Back to Brooman Day 2025
Brooman's 2025 Open Day
May 2025 marked a memorable day for the historic town of Brooman as it opened its doors to the public for a special community day. The event welcomed a diverse crowd, from former residents eager to reconnect with their roots to curious passersby who had always wondered about the town's history.
Families traveled from far and wide, many with personal connections to Brooman's past, whether through relatives who worked at the mill or ran the local post office. They were joined by new visitors, all keen to explore the buildings, learn about local history, and see the progress being made in the town.
The open day was a full-fledged community celebration. Guests enjoyed picnics on the lawns while listening to live music and speeches. In addition to exploring the historic buildings, attendees had access to Brooman's campsites and river access points, which were also opened for the day.
A highlight of the event was the incredible support from the community. The Pink up Milton ladies were on hand, raising money for the McGrath Foundation, and Brooman was honored to be a part of their fundraising efforts. The day was made even more delicious by the team from Wondering Woodfire, who served up fantastic pizzas to everyone enjoying the festivities.
The success of the 2025 Open Day has inspired plans to make it an annual tradition. The hope is to continue bringing together past and present generations to celebrate the unique magic of Brooman.
Special shout-outs go to:
